Discuss your situation - by phone or live chat - with an experienced advisor, who can arrange a consultation for you at our Harley Street clinic. You will then see a specialist doctor who will ensure you understand all your treatment options, and the implications of any surgery or other procedures we offer you
Each leg vein consultation includes a detailed duplex ultrasound scan, to precisely locate the veins to be treated, and help thoroughly assess your condition
At your next visit, your vascular surgeon will use either Radioablation or Veinwave technology to remove unhealthy veins
These walk-in, walk-out procedures are gentle, minimally-invasive, and proven to be effective
Following varicose vein treatment, we’ll arrange a second consultation with a full scan, to check your veins are properly closed. At this point, we’ll use a technique called ‘Foam Sclerotherapy’ (where foam is injected into the vein to permanently close it) to treat any residual varicose veins
There is no extra charge for treating residual veins during this follow-up appointment
With varicose vein treatment through the NHS severely restricted, we looked for ways to give as many people as possible access to the best care and most effective treatment
Because we guarantee a successful outcome to every varicose vein patient, we’ll conduct a second full duplex scan 8-12 weeks after treatment, to ensure the veins we’ve treated are closed
For some residual varicose veins in the legs or feet, we might recommend the use of foam sclerotherapy. This involves using ultrasound to precisely guide the injection of foam to close the unhealthy vein. The foam causes the vein to collapse, before it is naturally absorbed back into the body

Vein disease or Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI) will affect up to 20 million people in the UK at some point in their lives. Symptoms include varicose veins (large ‘trunk’ and smaller ‘reticular’ types), usually in the legs and feet, and thread or spider veins (‘teleangiectasia’ varicose veins)
Vein disease tends to get worse the older we are. But - along with any susceptibility we've inherited in our genes - lifestyle factors including our diet, how active we are, and whether we smoke can all play their part in determining how soon and how badly we're affected
How does poor circulation lead to varicose veins? Normally, healthy veins allow blood flow up from the feet to the heart, using tiny valves to keep the blood rising. Problems occur when these valves fail, or muscles become weak, allowing blood to pool and collect in the vein, which makes it swell up
UK Vein Clinic is a team of leading vascular surgeons and specialist practitioners. With routine varicose vein treatment through the NHS severely restricted, we looked for ways to give as many people as possible access to the best care and most effective treatment
